Renaissance Charter School at West Palm Beach recognized Veterans Day with our 4th Annual Salute to Veterans. The third graders wrote poems and added instrumentation to say ‘thanks’ to these brave men and women. Two parents and one grandparent of our students spoke to the students about their experiences. The local VA office brought in 5 Veterans of which 3 spoke to our students. The best question of the day from a third grader was “What if you have to go to the bathroom during a war?” This was asked to a First Grade Navy mom, who responded, “When you gotta go, you just go.” Our third through fifth graders also wrote thank you cards at their ELA writing centers. The fifth through eighth graders created decorations as part of their art curriculum and wrote thank you cards for our military men and women. The event was organized by Music teacher, Mrs. Rock Price.
